About us
A little about Juicy
Juicy emerged out of a passion and curiosity for investigating what makes consumers tick, what makes industries grow, a business innovate and a brand beautiful.
Established in March 2008, by founder Suzie Shore, we have a small team of freelancers who are brought in to work on projects as and when needed.
Like Suzie, the team all have solid research and planning backgrounds, and pride themselves on being experts in research and trend analysis, observing factors shaping businesses and brands.
Profiles:
Suzie Shore - Founder, Research Director
Founder and research director Suzie Shore has heaps of marketing intelligence experience working in insight departments – both agency and client-side. Over the years she’s done research on all kinds of brands and industries, from cat food to credit cards, news media through to film production. Following several years as an analyst at Euromonitor, Suzie established the intelligence service at TEQUILA\ London, part of the Customer Insight department. The service was so popular that it was expanded to work for TBWA\ London and their Manchester subsidiaries.
Joining Getty Images as customer insight manager, Suzie took her skills client-side, producing global trend analysis on the creative and media industries to support the corporate and regional marketing teams. During this time, she also acted as researcher and contributor on the book ‘Ads to Icons: How Advertising Succeeds in the Multimedia Age’ by Dr Paul Springer, which analyzes the evolution of advertising.
Suzie likes nothing more than snuggling up with her feline friends - Arthur and Merlin - after a hard day's work, although the pub would be a close second. She also has a strong pull towards foreign locations and anything to do with MINI.
Jess Wright - Freelance Researcher
Jessica is a freelance researcher with an agency background that spans both intelligence and planning. She has worked across a wide range of industries, with particular expertise in the third sector, health and beauty, and brands aimed at New Millennials.
Partly educated in South Africa, Jessica graduated from the University of Cape Town with a Business Science degree and worked in fashion marketing for a leading South African retailer. In 2006, she returned to the UK as part of the Intelligence team at TEQUILA\ London, before going on to broaden her experience in a planning role at TBWA\ London. Jessica is experienced in the creation of thought leadership pieces, industry trend overviews and client workshop design and facilitation. She is also passionate about the real-time information and insight that can be gleaned from social media in building and shaping brand behaviour.
The other half of Jessica’s desk is occupied by her sewing machine. An avid crafter, Jessica has recently established Curious Stitch, a bespoke handicrafts and soft furnishings business.
Penny Crossland - Freelance Researcher
Penny is a freelance business researcher with many years of corporate experience, having worked in the areas of strategy consulting, direct marketing and corporate investigation. She has conducted research projects in a wide variety of sectors, including telecommunications, banking & finance, FMCG and advertising & media.
Following several years as Research Manager at OCC Strategy Consultants, where she was responsible for the provision of business information to consultants in the London and European offices, she took on the role as Information Manager at the Institute of Direct Marketing. In tandem with this position she built up her own freelance business and now has a client base covering a broad spectrum of sectors. Penny enjoys digging for hard to find facts and getting to the bottom of tricky questions. Fluent in German, she also translates academic and business documents when clients demand.
Away from the desk, Penny enjoys meeting fellow researchers at networking events such as the annual Online Information Conferences and those run by the City Information Group. When she is not digging for information, Penny can be spotted on Wimbledon Common searching for her wayward terrier or being dragged by same in pursuit of squirrels.
